The Brics Meets in an Academic Forum in Russia from 8 to 10 of next July #comercioexterior

Imagen activaMoscow, May 22 (Prensa Latina) The multi-polarity in international relations and notions of sovereignty, equality and law in the conditions of today”s world focus the reflections of experts in the Brics VII Academic Forum, which meets today in Russia.

Almost five hundred researchers, political scientists and personalities from the diplomatic environment in Brazil, India, China, South Africa and the host country will meet during two days on the reform of the international financial system, a longstanding aspiration shared by emerging powers, and the future of new institutions and mechanisms of interaction within the Brics.

Cooperation in the interest of development, progress and security is the focus of the forum, which will be opened by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

As part of the Russian second presidency in the called quintet of emerging economies, the National Research Committee Brics also promotes academic exchange in pursuit of a common strategy for sustainable and integrated development of the group, on its way to establishing itself as an important center of economic and political influence.

Trade, social issues and new priorities of interaction within the group are also among the main issues of the plenary, which will be held at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel, near the Red Square in Moscow.

Among the guests also included the ambassadors of the members States and representatives of the respective centers of expertise (Brics Think Tanks).

The group emerged in 2006 on the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and gained new momentum in 2009 following the incorporation of South Africa.

More than a dozen ministerial meetings and forums are scheduled in Moscow on before the summit of heads of state of the Brics, in Ufa, from 8 to 10 of next July.
